For adequate maintainance of your own greasetraps the minimum cleaning frequency required for grease traps/interceptors is 90 days. Some other best management practices we suggest follow include the below:

  • The use of strainers in sinks
  • Dry wiping and/or pre-rinsing of dishes and pots before they are washed in order to in order to remove additional grease
  • Prior to cleaning, allow ice to melt in the sink, this will reduce odours and cause grease to congeal, making removal easier
